In the construction industry, there is an unlimited demand for new and appealing design elements for the realisation of prestigious projects that stand out from the crowd in terms of appearance. Here, colours and materials in particular play a major role in setting new trends.
In private residential construction, clients want to realise their dream of their own home without having to compromise. This applies to both new builds and renovations. They have an almost unlimited choice of colours, embossing and decors to choose from.
But even with commercial buildings, architects and town planners always pay attention to aesthetic aspects and the harmonious integration of the property into its surroundings. As the outside of a building is always perceived first, special focus is always placed on the design of the building’s façade.

The façade is the face of a house and represents the style and personality of the builder or owner. In addition to windows and doors, numerous other building elements can also be enhanced with foil lamination. For this purpose, decorative foils are bonded to the PVC and aluminium elements during production using weather-resistant PUR hot-melt adhesives. This allows personalised façade elements to be created entirely according to the customer’s personal taste and ideas.
The foil lamination process allows a wide range of different profiles and panels to be laminated:
PUR hotmelt adhesives can be used to wrap foamed PVC and rigid PVC, as well as other plastics and aluminium. It is important to choose the right construction adhesive in order to achieve resistant and long-lasting results.
The profiles and boards mentioned above, which are used as façade elements, can come as flat profiles or louvre profiles in various sizes, thicknesses and widths. Depending on the complexity of the profile geometry, this has an impact on the laminating process.
The application of the decorative foil is preceded by a primer pre-treatment to prepare the PVC surface for bonding with the PUR adhesive. The glue is applied to the entire surface of the decorative foil using a special slot nozzle glue head, and then pressed onto the profile surface using a series of pressure rollers. Complex shapes in particular require a high level of skill and expertise in order to achieve flawless and impeccable laminating results.
