Frequent starts and stops in production can cause hotmelt glue to cure inside the system. Over time, the glue pump, filters, and heated hose gradually clog up. Initially, you might not notice the reduced glue flow. Additionally, cured glue particles can pass through the filters and end up as spots under the foil, leading to defects and customer complaints.
To prevent these issues, it’s crucial to keep the glue system clean and in optimal condition from the start. Before stopping production for an extended period, such as long weekends or holidays, flush out all the glue and purge the system with Cleaner Blu.
How Cleaner Green can be used
CLEANER GREEN blocks the chemical reaction of the hotmelt PUR glue and prevents it from clogging up the glue system. The cleaning of the system should be started when the system is still clean. In fact, if you try to clean an already contaminated glue system, you might only loosen part of the cured glue. This will cause an increased amount of particles that will take long to get rid off.
CLEANER GREEN in solid block format can be used also for sealing the glue head before both night and weekend stops. By applying a layer on the slot, it prevents the adhesive from cross-linking in contact with air. When it is time to restart the lamination process, just flush out the cleaner.
