Primer 171M is a low-boiling solvent-based product such as Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). 171M has the advantage of drying (fast evaporation), so it does not require a long priming zone. Normally, a MEK base primer needs only 50 cm from the last felt to the drying zone. The number of hot air heaters required is also lower than for LOW VOC primers.
With Primer 171M at a speed of 15-20 m/min, 6 heaters are sufficient. Primer 171M is 100%VOC and flammable. The impact on operators is low, but it requires special protection in the application area (closed booths) to avoid accumulations of vapor that are flammable. The dosage quantity will be 25-30 g/m2.
